RN - Medical/Surgical and Telemetry
About the Role
Join Cleveland Clinic’s Mercy Hospital, a full member of the Cleveland Clinic Health System since 2021, offering a wide variety of medical specialties to communities in and around Stark County. The 2M Med/Surg & Telemetry Unit provides care to diverse populations of surgical and medical/telemetry patients, including those who have undergone abdominal surgery, hysterectomy, or require wound care, as well as high-acuity cardiac and stroke patients. This unit fosters respect, collaboration, and support among caregivers, prioritizing open communication to ensure everyone feels heard and valued. As an RN, your goal will be advancing patient recovery to discharge while ensuring safety. The unit encourages RNs to obtain med/surg certification and promotes growth into leadership opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care.
- Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, document, and communicate patients’ conditions.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
- Educate patients and their families.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN, or BSN program).
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
- One year of current acute care RN experience in a hospital setting or licensed military RN experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Physical Requirements
- Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
- Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
- Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
- Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
- Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Physical demand requirements exceed those for Light Work.
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Schedule
Days: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM, including every other weekend and 3 holidays per year.
Pay
Pay range for new hires: $35.50 – $55.60 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set, and education. The pay range does not include shift differentials, overtime, or the value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package (e.g., healthcare, dental, vision, retirement savings contributions).
