Cleveland Clinic Martin North Hospital is a fully integrated, state-of-the-art medical campus that includes diagnostic centers, outpatient surgery and a 24-hour emergency department. Cleveland Clinic Martin North Hospital is part of the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic, a nonprofit, multispecialty, academic medical center that integrates clinical and hospital care with research and education. Martin North Hospital's Med/Surg and Telemetry Unit provides comprehensive care for patients with various medical and surgical conditions who require continuous cardiac monitoring. Many of the patients on this unit are gastro-focused. As an RN on this team, you will work with fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care, throughout the patient care journey. In this role, you will interact directly with patients and their families, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed. Here, you will be able to expand your nursing skills and potentially grow into other nursing and leadership roles down the line.
Schedule
Days from 7:00AM – 7:30PM, including every other weekend.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care.
- Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, document and communicate patients' conditions.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing protocol.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs.
- Educate patients and their families, considering cultural issues and other special concerns.
- Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
- Maintain professional growth and development through ongoing formal and informal education and clinical nursing study.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
- One year of current acute care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience
Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Physical requirements
- Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
- Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
- Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
- Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
- Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
