Medical Surgical Telemetry - RN
About the Role
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will deliver compassionate, high-quality care that impacts patients' well-being and recovery. You will leverage your expertise to provide individualized, comprehensive care, including critical assessments, skilled procedures, and implementation of patient care plans. Collaboration within an interdisciplinary team is essential to achieving optimal patient outcomes.
You will work in the 32-bed Medical Telemetry unit at St. Anthony Hospital, caring for patients with a wide array of medical conditions, including stroke, infectious disease, pulmonary, GI, and pre/post diagnostic cardiac catheterization procedures. The unit features six rooms equipped for dialysis patients, all private with restrooms, supply cabinets, couches, and privacy curtains. Each room includes a computer for documentation and medication verification, and the unit uses Epic as its electronic health record.
Responsibilities
- Provide individualized, comprehensive patient care through critical assessments and skilled procedures.
- Implement and follow patient care plans meticulously.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including RNs, Care Assistants, Respiratory Care, Pharmacists, PT/OT, IV Therapy RNs, Dieticians, and RN Care Managers.
- Care for patients with diverse diagnoses, including stroke, infectious disease, pulmonary, GI, and pre/post cardiac catheterization procedures.
- Utilize Epic electronic health record for documentation and medication verification.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse issued by the Washington State Board of Nursing.
- Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- BSN degree.
- One year of related work experience in an acute care setting.
Unit Details
The management structure includes a Clinical Manager and Clinical Coordinator, with Charge Nurses providing additional support. RN assignments are based on patient census and acuity, with typical RN ratios of 1:5 and CNA support.
