Responsibilities
- Collaborates with patients, families, and the care team to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Delivers high-quality, patient-centered care using clinical judgment and critical thinking
- Communicates effectively with providers, team members, and patients to ensure coordinated care
- Accurately documents patient care in the EMR to support quality and compliance
- Delegates and supports team members based on scope, skills, and patient needs
- Recognizes changes in patient condition and escalates concerns appropriately
- Prioritizes patient safety, quality outcomes, and infection prevention in all aspects of care
- Participates in ongoing education and training to maintain and grow clinical expertise
Qualifications
- Successfully completed an accredited nursing program required
- BSN Preferred
- Valid Nursing License with authorization to work in Iowa required
- Basic Certified Life Support certification required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 6 months from date of hire required
- Must obtain NIHSS education within 90 days of hire and maintain every two years thereafter
- Completion of six hours of stroke education prior to the end of orientation and annually required
- Specialty certification is preferred
