Essential Key Job Responsibilities

• Utilizes nursing process which includes patient assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning of nursing care, implementing interventions, and evaluation of patient status in relationship to above.
• Executes regimen prescribed by physician within guidelines of nursing practice.
• Performs and/or supervises activities/functions which require knowledge and skill level currently ascribed to the licensed practical nurse and seeks assistance when these are beyond scope of preparation.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current RN license in State of Iowa
• Current basic Life Support for Healthcare providers from American Heart Association
• Mandatory reporter training for dependent adult
• Obtains education required for license renewal

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Works to promote a positive atmosphere in LTC
• Provides direct care to the residents (feeding, bathing, dressing, ambulation, stock supply room, pass water .linens etc.)
• Communicates changes in resident’s condition to appropriate members of the health care team
• Follows universal precautions for infection control
• Correctly uses mechanical devices for moving, lifting and transferring residents to promote safety
