RN - Labor & Delivery/Postpartum
About the role
Travelers will work 13 weeks at Shelby, North Carolina at a Level 3 Trauma Teaching Hospital. The position involves working 12-hour night shifts from 1900-0700.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical interviewing services
- Be available for on-call and call-back duties
- Work weekends and holidays as required
- Floating to facilities within Region 3 - Cleveland, Kings Mtn, Lincoln, Central Division (CMC Main + Mercy + LCH)
- Support within the Department: Charge nurse, 24/7 phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, resource nurse, telemetry monitoring/tech, fetal monitoring technology/ equipment
- Use AWHONN staffing guidelines for patient ratios
- Manage labor and delivery, perform cesarean sections, pre-op, post-op, triage, resuscitation of newborns, pitocin management, epidural management
- Ability and willingness to work LDRP setting
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery
- Ability to work LDRP setting
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, EFM, NRP

About Facility
A 241 licensed bed Level 3 Trauma Teaching Hospital, offering a Level 3 Trauma Center, Chest Pain Center, and Stroke Center. The unit includes 8 labor rooms, 3 triage rooms, 1 OR suite, and 1 PACU. Average patient load is 4 to 6 patients per day.
Qualifications
- Current licensure and certification: BLS, ACLS, EFM, NRP
- Ability to work in a LDRP setting
