What You'll Do
In this role, you will provide professional nursing care while partnering with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to achieve the best possible outcomes. Key responsibilities include:
- Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized patient care plans
- Documenting care accurately and timely within the electronic health record
- Coinciding and delegating care activities to members of the healthcare team
- Advocating for patients and supporting a patient- and family-centered approach to care
- Maintaining clinical competence through ongoing education and professional development
- Contributing to quality improvement, patient safety, infection prevention, and departmental initiatives
- Supporting hospital policies, procedures, and organizational goals
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire
- At least one year of recent (within the last 36 months) experience in a Progressive Care, Step-Down, or Intermediate Care setting, or currently oriented and independently practicing within a comparable department
- Demonstrated clinical competence and strong critical thinking skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Department Information
Intermediate Care - Cardiac Surgery Unit, ICU Step-Down & Intermediate Care
The 4 South team cares for patients requiring a higher level of monitoring and specialized care, including cardiac surgery and ICU step-down populations. Nurses in this area work closely with interdisciplinary teams to support complex patient needs and recovery.
