RN - Inpatient OR, Cardiothoracic

About the role

This is a 90% FTE position, working Monday through Friday, with day and evening shifts, including 3 - 12 hour shifts from 6:30am to 7:10pm. The role includes rotations to PMs 2-3 times yearly, as well as holidays and on-call responsibilities. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department. The position is located at University Hospital in Madison, WI.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse (RN) will communicate operating room activities to facilitate efficiency in the surgical case progression and turnover between cases. They will also implement safe, competent, and efficient patient and family care within policies, procedures, and standards of care plan to the perioperative patient’s level of complexity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• 6 months of relevant clinical experience required
• Clinical operating room experience preferred
• Registration as a professional nurse in the state of Wisconsin required upon hire
• CPR certification required upon hire
• ACLS certification preferred
• PALS certification preferred
