The 5th floor Inpatient unit is a fast-paced, 27-bed medical surgical general care unit that offers rewarding nursing opportunities at a Magnet designated hospital.

Responsibilities

  • Help provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a professional environment that fosters and values collaboration, respect, and diversity.
  • Join a team of remarkable nurses and have the opportunity to care for general care patients with a wide variety of medical and surgical diagnoses.
  • Work in a collaborative environment, surrounded by state of the art technology, evidence-based practice and a strong interdisciplinary team.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and lead practice changes.
  • Collaborate in the development, execution and evaluation of the multidisciplinary plan of care.

Schedule

90% FTE, mix of 8 and 12 hour evening/night shifts. Weekend rotation and holiday rotation. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department. You will work at East Madison Hospital in Madison, WI.

Pay

Additional components of compensation may include shift differentials: $4/hour evening, $5/hour night, and $4.25/hour weekend as applicable for hours worked. Overtime available.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) Preferred
  • Inpatient Units and Central Float (Adult & Pediatric): Six (6) months nursing experience or current participant in UW Health's Nurse Residency Program with successful completion of the Nurse Residency Orientation on unit/similar unit. Required
  • Relevant RN Experience Preferred
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact. Required
  • Current CPR/BLS Certification. Required
  • Relevant Certification Preferred
