Position Overview Provide direct nursing care within the Newborn ICU, working independently with a focus on patient safety, quality care, and adherence to policies. Serve as a clinical leader, assuming relief charge duties and mentoring new staff. Care responsibilities span diverse age groups, including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Key Responsibilities Deliver safe, individualized patient care and implement care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.Assist with tests, procedures, and emergency responses, ensuring proper documentation and consent.Administer medications, including IV therapies, following the Seven Rights, and communicate clinical findings.Maintain accurate medical records and provide patient/family education, discharge planning, and support.Participate in orientation, precepting, and professional development activities.Ensure a safe, therapeutic environment, promote patient safety, and proactively identify and report risks or safety concerns.Answer inquiries, triage calls, and uphold departmental policies and procedures. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited nursing program; RN licensure in NM or reciprocal agreement.CPR certification required within 30 days.Preferred bilingual skills (English/Spanish) and national certification in specialty areas.Physical ability for heavy work and compliance with safety protocols related to hazardous materials.
