RN - Inpatient

About the role

Provide direct nursing care within the Newborn ICU, working independently with a focus on patient safety, quality care, and adherence to policies. Serve as a clinical leader, assuming relief charge duties and mentoring new staff. Care responsibilities span diverse age groups, including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, individualized patient care and implement care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Assist with tests, procedures, and emergency responses, ensuring proper documentation and consent.
• Administer medications, including IV therapies, following the Seven Rights, and communicate clinical findings.
• Maintain accurate medical records and provide patient/family education, discharge planning, and support.
• Participate in orientation, precepting, and professional development activities.
• Ensure a safe, therapeutic environment, promote patient safety, and proactively identify and report risks or safety concerns.
• Answer inquiries, triage calls, and uphold departmental policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• RN licensure in NM or reciprocal agreement.
• CPR certification required within 30 days.
• Preferred bilingual skills (English/Spanish) and national certification in specialty areas.
• Physical ability for heavy work and compliance with safety protocols related to hazardous materials.
