About the Role

The Acute Rehab Unit serves patients with strokes, spinal cord injury, LVADs, traumatic brain injury, and burn victims. The unit consists of 32 patient beds with physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy on-site. Patients receive up to 3 hours of therapy per day.

Responsibilities

• Derive culturally and age-appropriate expected outcomes involving the patient, family, and other healthcare providers.
• Analyze health status data to determine patient care needs, comparing findings with established norms.
• Assess and document changes in patient condition, notify physicians or supervisors, and intervene appropriately.
• Accept assignments in areas outside the primary unit and perform duties within individualized competency.
• Demonstrate commitment to continuous lifelong learning and professional development for self and others.
• Promote advancement of the nursing profession through participation in professional organizations.
• Seek formal and independent learning activities using current research and evidence to maintain and develop clinical skills and knowledge.

Requirements

• Minimum of two years of RN experience within the previous five-year period.
• Current State of PA RN licensure OR current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
• CPR Certification.
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.

Qualifications

• Preferred: Certification in area of specialty.
