Role Overview
The RN Oncology Infusion Therapy Clinician provides specialized nursing care in oncology infusion settings, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapies. They work under the supervision of management, ensuring safe, patient-centered, culturally aware care while addressing biological, emotional, and educational needs. This role involves collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, participating in performance improvement, and serving as a resource for staff and medical personnel. They are responsible for maintaining clinical competencies, mentoring new staff, and supporting evidence-based practice and research activities.
Responsibilities
- Provides specialized nursing care in oncology infusion settings, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapies.
- Works under the supervision of management, ensuring safe, patient-centered, culturally aware care while addressing biological, emotional, and educational needs.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, participates in performance improvement, and serves as a resource for staff and medical personnel.
- Maintains clinical competencies, mentors new staff, and supports evidence-based practice and research activities.
Requirements
- A valid RN license.
- BLS certification.
- Chemotherapy competency (ideally).
- Minimum two years of nursing experience.
- PREFERRED: Outpatient oncology experience.
- Strong interpersonal, multitasking, and documentation skills.
