About the Role

AdventHealth is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team in Weaverville, North Carolina. This role involves providing care to patients with oncology and hematology conditions in an outpatient setting.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients and families on health conditions, procedures, and care plans, ensuring understanding and compliance based on assessed learning needs
• Maintains compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies, ensuring legal and ethical practice
• Ensures the appropriate use and stewardship of medical supplies and equipment to support patient safety and operational efficiency
• Follows CDC isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of PPE, performs hand hygiene according to policy, and enforces safety regulations
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, physicians, and staff, maintaining professional relationships and promoting a positive environment
• Assists physicians in providing care to patients with oncology and hematology conditions
• Maintains accurate nursing documentation including patient histories, conditions, treatments, vital signs, responses, and assessment of changes
• Responds quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment
• Communicates effectively with front office staff to coordinate patient care
• Provides care that reflects initiative, flexibility, and responsibility with minimal supervision
• Participates in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops
• Administers medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols
• Prioritizes care based on physical and psychosocial needs, as well as factors influencing patient flow through the system

Qualifications

• Associate's of Nursing (Required)
• Bachelor's of Nursing (Preferred)
• 1+ year experience in acute care nursing (Required)
• Oncology experience (Preferred)

Licenses and Certifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) (Required)
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) (Required)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) (Preferred)
• Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) (Preferred)

Skills

• Clinical nursing expertise in oncology care (Required)
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal (Required)
• Computer proficiency (Required)
• Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing (Required)
• Additional languages (Preferred)

Pay

$31.64 - $50.13

Schedule

PRN, Day shift, Monday through Friday 8am-5pm
