Responsibilities
- Affords appropriate and accurate assessment of the patient based on their medical condition.
- Displays knowledge of ordered medications and administers them according to prescription.
- Provides care that is appropriate to the patient's condition and age, including basic self-care activities.
- Formulates a teaching plan based on identified learning needs and evaluates its effectiveness; involves the family as needed.
- Demonstrates the ability to apply nursing knowledge to perform treatments and provide services.
- Communicates and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Demonstrates proficiency in assisting physicians with procedures and performing services that require technical and manual skills.
- Identifies and addresses psychosocial needs of patients and families, and communicates with social services regarding both hospital and post-discharge needs.
- Promotes cost-effectiveness and efficient use of supplies, linens, and charge items.
- Prioritizes patient care effectively and efficiently.
- Promotes patient safety by minimizing the risk of unnecessary harm associated with healthcare.
- Engages in lifelong learning relevant to the nursing profession.
Specifications
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of licensed ICU experience; Preferred 2-5 years of ICU experience.
- Education: Minimum Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Preferred Training in preferred specialty certifications.
- Licensure: Minimum RN; BLS certification within 14 days of hire; Preferred ACLS/PALS certification.
- Special Skills: Minimum Computer literacy; Preferred Advanced Life Support (ALS) certifications.
