RN House Supervisor - Up to 15,000 sign on bonus
About the Role
Join Missouri Baptist Medical Center as an RN House Supervisor and play a vital role in hospital-wide operations, staffing, patient flow, and clinical leadership. In this highly visible leadership position, you'll serve as the go-to resource for nursing teams, physicians, patients, and families while helping ensure safe, efficient, and exceptional care throughout the hospital.
Responsibilities
- Hospital-wide leadership role with broad exposure to operations and nursing leadership
- Oversee staffing, patient placement, admissions, transfers, throughput, and bed management
- Serve as the leadership resource during patient escalations, rapid responses, codes, falls, and safety events
- Partner with nursing leaders, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to support daily operations
- Address patient and family concerns and provide service recovery support
- Coach, mentor, and support staff through real-time challenges
- Manages individual(s) including hiring, training, assigning work, managing & evaluating performance, and conducting professional development plans
- Supervises the delivery of safe and appropriate patient care across the organization and effectively responds to special circumstances as the on-site leader
- Assists with patient care operations and integration of services between departments
- Assists in the clinical development of nursing staff, including observing and coaching staff in performance of clinical duties and interpersonal interactions
- Monitors staff and unit compliance in accordance with regulatory guidelines
- Functions as a liaison between Administration and all departments and customers
- May participate in the development of departmental staffing, revenue, and/or expense budgets and adhering to those goals
Requirements
- BSN (required)
- Current RN licensure
- Minimum 5 years of acute care RN experience
- 2+ years of leadership experience
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior charge nurse or leadership experience
- Diverse inpatient background across multiple specialties
- Experience with staffing coordination, patient throughput, bed management, or float pool operations
- Strong coaching, mentoring, and conflict-resolution skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- 5-10 years of nursing experience
Schedule
- 3 x 12-hour shifts with day, night, and rotating schedule options
- Weekend rotation typically every 4th weekend
- Holiday rotation includes one summer and one winter holiday annually
