RN House Supervisor PRN

About the role

Acute Rehabilitation Hospital of Plano in Plano, TX is hiring a PRN RN House Supervisor for day shifts. This role oversees nursing service activities during the scheduled working shift to ensure safe, efficient, and therapeutic patient care while coordinating with other shifts for continuity.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and counseling for staff on the designated shift.
• Manage nursing care activities and enforce hospital policies during the shift.
• Coordinate nursing service activities through floor nurses.
• Review and adjust nursing staffing patterns, check attendance, and revise daily staff schedules as needed.
• Assist in interpreting hospital policies and state laws related to nursing services.
• Participate in hospital safety procedures and programs.
• Evaluate and recommend changes to nursing service records.
• Communicate nursing activities, needs, problems, and unusual events to the Chief Clinical Officer or Nurse Manager.
• Recommend the purchase of supplies and equipment for the nursing service.
• Conduct routine checks on staff, timecards, equipment, materials, and supplies.
• Make recommendations for hiring, promotions, suspensions, and terminations of nursing staff.
• Assist in orientation programs for new employees.
• Investigate and report staff complaints.
• Enforce and audit infection control procedures consistently.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• Current ASL CPR Certification required.
• Minimum of two years of nursing experience.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Proficiency in written and verbal communication.
• Understanding of hospital policies and procedures.
