About the Role

Faith Hospice has a rare opportunity for a Registered Nurse who feels the call to serve those patients at the end of life and the opportunity to work as an essential part of an inpatient hospice care team who all share this rare and special gift. Our Trillium Woods Inpatient Hospice facility in Byron Center is seeking a compassionate RN to join our care team.

At Faith Hospice, we utilize highly skilled nurses, medical social workers, chaplains, home health aides and volunteers to serve our patients, from medical and emotional care to pain management and bereavement counseling.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient conditions and comfort, communicating changes to physicians, family, and caregivers
  • Implement and revise individualized care plans, managing discomfort and providing symptom relief
  • Administer medication, perform treatments, and coordinate with the Interdisciplinary Group for care planning
  • Deliver specialized hospice training to staff, family, and caregivers for optimal patient care
  • Educate patients and families on disease processes and provides emotional support
  • Maintain communication with physicians and other disciplines
  • Build trusting relationships and complete required documentation promptly

Schedule

2nd shift | 2:30pm - 10:00pm

Schedule repeats every 2 weeks:

  • Week #1: Tues, Wed, Fri, Sat
  • Week #2: Sun, Tue, Wed, Fri

Eligible for pick-up pay, if you choose to pick up extra shifts:

  • an additional $4/hour if you pick up on a weekday
  • an additional $6/hour if you pick up on a weekend
  • an additional $8/hour if you pick up on a holiday

Education And Experience

  • RN licensure in Michigan
  • At least 2 years of med/surg, acute care, or skilled nursing experience
  • Hospice and/or hospital experience preferred
  • Passion for hospice nursing
