About the role

The Head Nurse oversees patient care, staff management, and daily operations within a specific nursing unit. They utilize the nursing process to guide clinical decision-making, ensuring safe, compassionate, and high-quality care that respects patient autonomy and dignity. The role involves providing clinical leadership, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and supporting continuous improvement in healthcare delivery.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and review diagnostic data related to patient conditions.
• Collaborate with leadership to identify and implement department improvements.
• Guide staff during life-threatening situations and evaluate intervention effectiveness.
• Implement innovative processes to enhance patient outcomes.
• Participate in clinical leadership activities such as coaching, mentoring, staffing, and performance evaluations.
• Support ongoing learning and professional development.
• Communicate effectively with team members to provide optimal patient care.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the relevant unit or specialty.
• RN licensure and BLS certification within 14 days of hire; ACLS preferred.
• Computer literacy required; additional skills are desirable.
