About the role

The Head Nurse oversees patient care, staff management, and daily operations within a specific nursing department or unit. They utilize the nursing process to make informed decisions, partnering with patients and families to promote health and restore well-being. The role combines caring, compassion, knowledge, and integrity to deliver safe, high-quality care that respects patient autonomy and dignity. They provide clinical leadership to nursing staff, ensuring continuity of care aligned with hospital policies and goals, collaborating with leadership to achieve objectives.

Responsibilities

• Interpret, review, and integrate diagnostic data related to patient conditions.
• Collaborate with leadership and other disciplines to identify improvement opportunities and implement change.
• Guide and intervene during life-threatening situations.
• Assess the effectiveness of interventions and outcomes.
• Implement innovative processes to enhance patient outcomes.
• Participate in clinical leadership activities such as coaching, mentoring, staffing, performance evaluations, and productivity management.
• Engage in activities aimed at improving healthcare delivery.
• Communicate and collaborate in patient care provision.
• Support continuous learning and professional development.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years experience in the current or similar setting.
• Licensure as an RN with BLS certification within 14 days of hire; ACLS preferred.

Skills

• Proficiency in computer literacy.
