RN, First Assist - Ambulatory Surgery

About the role

You will assist the surgical team during intra-operative procedures in ambulatory surgery centers.

Responsibilities

  • Perform pre-operative assessments
  • Provide technical support during surgeries, including tissue handling, suturing, and hemostasis
  • Assist with post-operative care, such as applying splints and patient transfer
  • Ensure effective communication for continuity of care
  • Maintain sterile techniques
  • Collaborate with team members for room setup, patient positioning, and equipment management
  • Act as a Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) supporting various surgical specialties
  • Ensure compliance with standards and protocols

Requirements

  • At least two years of intra-operative scrubbing and circulating experience
  • Recent RNFA experience or certification
  • Valid Oregon RN license
  • ACLS, BLS, and Nurse Operating Room certification

Qualifications

Preferred candidates have:

  • 2–5 years of RNFA practice
  • CRNFA certification
  • Ability to assist across all surgical cases
