About the role
This role provides intra-operative support to the surgical team, collaborating with surgeons and healthcare staff during procedures within ambulatory surgery centers.
Responsibilities
- Perform pre-operative assessments and plan care in coordination with the surgical team.
- Provide technical assistance during surgery, including handling instruments, tissue manipulation, hemostasis, suturing, and assisting with surgical exposure.
- Support post-operative care such as applying splints, aiding in patient transfers, and assisting with room turnover.
- Communicate effectively for continuity of care, maintain sterile techniques, and ensure a safe environment.
- Execute RNFA duties across surgical specialties, including assisting with room setup, patient preparation, draping, instrumentation, and equipment management.
- Monitor sterile fields, assist with patient positioning, and support post-op procedures.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of intra-operative scrubbing and circulating experience.
- Recent RNFA or equivalent certification with successful completion of a recognized RNFA course.
- Valid RN license in Oregon, with BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Meet RNFA qualifications per AORN standards.
Qualifications
- Preferred: 2-5 years RNFA practice.
- Preferred: CRNFA certification.
- Preferred: Ability to assist in all surgical cases.
