About the role
Provides intra-operative assistance to the surgical team, collaborating with surgeons to perform procedures according to established standards. Functions as an RNFA across various surgical specialties, assisting with room setup, patient positioning, instrumentation, and equipment management. Ensures safety and efficiency in surgical procedures, participates in briefings, and supports post-op transfer and room tear-down.
Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-operative assessments
- Assist during surgery with instruments, tissue handling, hemostasis, and suturing
- Ensure sterile technique is maintained throughout procedures
- Apply post-operative splints and aid in patient transfer
- Support room turnover and tear-down
- Maintain effective communication for continuity of care
- Demonstrate culturally sensitive, population-based care
Requirements
- Minimum two years of intra-operative scrubbing and circulating experience
- Recent RNFA experience or certification
- Oregon RN license
- ACLS and BLS certifications
- Nurse Operating Room Certificate
Qualifications
Preferred:
- 2-5 years of RNFA practice
- CRNFA certification
- Ability to assist in all surgical cases
