Closing Date: 08/27/2026. Regular, day-shift clinical nursing position at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS).

About the role

This position is three 12-hour shifts plus a 4-hour shift as needed. The RN may float to any of the Primary Care & Population Health Service Line (PCPHSL) clinics. The role involves direct patient care, triage, care coordination, patient education, and collaboration with providers, fellows, and staff to develop and implement individualized health plans.

Responsibilities

• Collect and document patient assessment data per UAMS standards.
• Develop and update patient Plans of Care (POC) using assessment data.
• Evaluate patient progress toward desired outcomes.
• Administer medication following department/unit standards and the Nurse Practice Act.
• Verify and evaluate care to ensure consistency with patient- and family-centered care principles, practice standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Integrate current evidence into nursing practice.
• Promote a positive educational environment for students and staff.
• Provide effective patient/family education and discharge planning.
• Collaborate and communicate with nursing staff, interdisciplinary teams, executive leaders, and other stakeholders.
• Document care appropriately in the medical record.
• Report variances in care, systems, or processes through appropriate channels.
• Participate in staff recruitment and retention.
• Facilitate development and implementation of evidence-based nursing practice standards compliant with ANA standards.
• Perform point-of-care testing, draw and collect blood specimens, and prepare specimens for laboratory processing.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Baccalaureate Degree, ADN Degree, or Diploma in Registered Nursing.
• Valid Arkansas Registered Nursing License.
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience.
• Ability to perform point-of-care testing, phlebotomy, and specimen processing.

Qualifications

• Preferred: Pediatric experience.
• Preferred: BLS (CPR) Certification.
• Preferred: Minimum of 1 year of phlebotomy experience.
• Preferred: Two years of experience in an ambulatory care setting.
