Responsibilities
- Oversee patient care using a professional practice model.
- Conduct patient assessments, recognize health issues, create care plans, and assess patient responses.
- Secure patient travel and address patient needs in healthcare.
- Help patients and prevent issues in compliance with the Texas Nursing Practice Act.
- Delegate tasks based on patient condition and team competencies.
- Conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs.
- Create, implement, and evaluate care plans, adjusting to reach desired outcomes.
- Build therapeutic relationships with patients and families, managing discomfort and maintaining professionalism.
- Develop care plans reflecting patient values to aid in resolving issues.
- Educate patients, families, nurses, and community members to empower better healthcare choices.
- Assess and document learning needs regularly.
- Collaborate with colleagues and the community to create care plans.
- Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly.
- Use problem-solving strategies with patients, families, and staff.
- Recognize limitations and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care planning and delivery.
- Achieve goals through teamwork, recognize contributions, commit to growth, and contribute to peers' development.
- Show commitment to community service.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- RN license.
- BLS certification (must obtain within 30 days of starting the role).
Skills
- Deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards, as well as procedures.
- Knowledge of nursing laws, rules, standards, and guidelines in your area.
- Understanding of hospital procedures and rules.
- Proficiency in medical terminology, focusing on health, disease prevention, management, common medications, and their side effects.
- Respect for medical and professional nursing ethics and patient privacy rights.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Positive social skills to facilitate interactions with a diverse range of parties.
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities and critical thinking.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling and payroll systems, electronic medical documentation, and email.
Pay
$5,000 relocation bonus (amount based on distance).
