Join us in an extraordinary opportunity to be at the forefront of our new hospital in Frisco, Texas. Our new facility, spanning 340,000 square feet, will introduce a state-of-the-art facility tailored to accommodate the evolving needs of our rapidly growing population. Among its highlights, the facility will house crucial departments such as emergency, inpatient, procedural, and women and children.

Schedule

Full-time evenings, 1p-1a, three 12-hour shifts including weekends and holidays

Requirements

• 2 years recent/current ED experience in an acute care setting
• Trained in Trauma Center and Triage
• RN license
• BLS certification (or obtain within 30 days of starting)
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program

Responsibilities

• Oversee patient care using a professional practice model, including patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses.
• Secure patient travel and address patient needs in healthcare.
• Help patients and prevent issues while following the Texas Nursing Practice Act.
• Delegate tasks based on patient condition and team competencies.
• Conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs.
• Create, implement, and evaluate care plans, adjusting to reach desired outcomes.
• Build therapeutic relationships with patients and families, managing discomfort and maintaining professionalism.
• Create care plans reflecting patient values to aid in resolving issues.
• Educate patients, families, nurses, and community members to empower them with knowledge for better healthcare choices.
• Assess and document learning needs regularly.
• Work with colleagues and community to create a care plan, delegating tasks carefully and following up promptly.
• Use different strategies for problem-solving with patients, families, and staff.
• Recognize limitations and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care planning and delivery.
• Achieve goals through teamwork, recognize contributions, commit to growth, and contribute to peers' development.
• Show commitment to community service.

Skills

• Deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards, as well as procedures.
• Knowledge of nursing laws, rules, standards, and guidelines in your area.
• Understanding of hospital procedures and rules.
• Proficiency in medical terms, focusing on health, disease prevention, management, common medications, and their side effects.
• Respect for medical and professional nursing ethics and patient privacy rights.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Positive social skills to facilitate interactions with a diverse range of parties.
• Excellent problem-solving capabilities and critical thinking.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling and payroll systems, electronic medical documentation, and email.
