Position Summary

The RN EMS QA/PI Coordinator is responsible for the development, implementation, and ongoing management of the EMS Quality Program, including facilitation of the BCEMS Quality Committee. Reporting to the Nurse Manager of Emergency Management & Prehospital Services, the Coordinator leads EMS quality improvement initiatives, conducts comprehensive data analysis, and collaborates with the Education Department to identify trends and recommend targeted interventions. This role ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards and develops key performance indicators based on review of PCRs, crew feedback, and requirements established by S-SV EMS, Cal-EMSA, and NEMSQA. The Coordinator supports and optimizes the use of EMS digital platforms and applications to streamline case review, follow-up, and system reporting. Serving as a liaison between Enloe Medical Center, regional EMS agencies, fire departments, law enforcement, ambulance providers, and internal hospital departments, the Coordinator is the principal point of contact for EMS CQI with S-SV EMS and participates in regional CQI meetings. The role also collaborates closely with Enloe Health's Quality & Safety Department and the STEMI, Stroke, and Trauma Programs as well as acts as a back-up to the prehospital liaison nurse.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Five years of experience in prehospital ground services
  • Two years of experience in an Emergency Department
  • Knowledge of Continuous Quality Improvement processes
  • Demonstrated ability in planning, developing, directing, and implementing programs
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Current CA RN License
  • Current BLS certification (within 6 months of hire)
  • Current MICN (within 6 months of hire)
  • Current ACLS recognition
  • Current PALS or Handtevy Prehospital Pediatric Provider (preferred) recognition (within 6 months of hire)
  • Current PHTLS (within 6 months of hire)
  • ICS 100, ICS 200, ICS 700 (within 6 months of hire)
  • Behavior should be reflective of Enloe Medical Center core values
  • Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in air medical services
  • Working knowledge and experience in statistical methodology
  • Background in interagency coordination or liaison roles
  • Experience with EMS digital systems, cloud-based tools, and cyber programs
  • Experience with EMS Accreditation
  • Experience in department oversight, supervision, or team coordination

Compensation & Schedule

  • Pay range: $50.50 - $68.18 per hour (rate based on applicable experience)
  • Shift: Days
  • Shift length: 8 hours
  • Days off: Variable
  • Hours per pay period: 80
