About the Role

The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the Emergency Services department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." The RN serves as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers while modeling a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values.

• Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s).
• Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Performs exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests and strives to anticipate patient needs.
• Teaches patients, families, and caregivers about patient medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and possible side effects.
• Translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding and prepares patients for future self-management.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
• Associate Degree in Nursing
• 1 year of RN experience required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
