RN-Emergency Room Nurse Educator

Responsibilities

• Accurately assesses the patient based on their medical condition.
• Knows and administers ordered medications as prescribed.
• Provides care appropriate to the patient's condition and age, including basic self-care activities.
• Formulates a teaching plan based on identified learning needs and evaluates its effectiveness.
• Uses nursing knowledge to perform treatments and provide services.
• Communicates and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to provide patient care.
• Assists physicians with procedures and performs services requiring technical and manual skills.
• Demonstrates ability to address psychosocial needs of patients and family, and communicate with social services.
• Promotes cost-effectiveness and reduces risks of unnecessary harm through health care.
• Prioritizes patient care effectively and efficiently.

Specifications

• Experience: Minimum 3 years in current unit or specialty area, or 4 years in acute care hospital setting or comparable specialty area, with evidence of 6 clinical nursing education contact hours within the last 12 months.

• Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

• Licensure: RN; BLS certification within 14 days of hire; ACLS/PALS specialty certification preferred.
