With four operating rooms, 34 inpatient care rooms, and a helipad, we provide high-quality care close to home. Mentor Hospital’s Emergency Department is a 19-bed department that delivers 24/7 emergency care to diverse patient populations. The department utilizes an innovative virtual platform with a telehealth “robot” (a mobile telehealth station) to host patient consults.
As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care by interacting directly with patients, families, and visitors, offering healthcare information and enhancing their experience. This role requires empathy, understanding, and a nurturing approach to ensure quality patient care and effective life-saving treatment.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patients’ conditions.
- Evaluate, update, and revise the plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
- Educate patients and families using educational materials, considering cultural issues and other special concerns.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing protocol.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN, BSN program).
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- One year of current acute care RN experience in a hospital setting (military RN experience considered).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within one year of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Experience in an Emergency Department setting.
- Critical Care experience.
Physical Requirements
- Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
- Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
- Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
- Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
- Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Schedule
Three 12-hour variable shifts from 3:00 p.m. – 3:30 a.m. or 1:00 p.m. – 1:30 a.m., with rotating weekends and holiday requirements.
Pay
Pay Range: $35.50 - $55.60 per hour for new hires. The actual compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set, and education. This range does not include shift differentials, overtime, or the value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package (e.g., healthcare, dental, vision, retirement savings contributions).
