About the Unit

The Corewell Lenox Emergency Center is a small, free‑standing emergency department that is part of Corewell Grosse Pointe Hospital. It is a full‑service ED with 24/7 lab and imaging services, including CT and ultrasound, and is equipped to handle all types of emergencies. The department has 8 rooms (2 trauma bays, 2 triage bays, and 5‑6 hallway spots) and is staffed 24/7 with board‑certified emergency physicians, emergency‑trained mid‑level providers, nurses, and technicians. Although located in the neighborhood and not physically connected to a hospital, the center maintains close integration and collaboration with Beaumont’s hospitals, enabling efficient transitions to an inpatient setting when needed.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process (assess, plan, implement, evaluate, discharge) to provide professional nursing care incorporating patient‑family centered care principles.
• Provide quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader according to Corewell Health policies and procedures.
• Recognize the impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on patient outcomes.
• Partner with and utilize patient/family input and goals in planning the plan of care.
• Develop teaching strategies for patient/family and document education and learning appropriately in the health record.

Qualifications

• Associates or Diploma in Nursing Required
• Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years for GN or RN with less than one (1) year experience
• Graduates from a non‑accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed health care role and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination
• MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire/transfer from one of the following organizations – American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Canadian Heart and Stroke.
• ACLS within 6 months of hire/transfer.
