About the role

We are seeking a RN Director Trauma Program for our team to be an innovator. HCA Healthcare partners with Harvard Pilgrim Institute and the CDC to use our data from more than 26 million patient encounters each year to impact the industry.

Responsibilities

  • Work in concert with the Trauma Medical Director and hospital leadership to assure optimal trauma patient care services, quality outcomes, and compliance with local, state, and national standards for Trauma Center designation and verification
  • Manage the Trauma Program in collaboration with hospital leadership
  • Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements and accreditation standards
  • Develop and implement trauma care protocols and policies
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve trauma patient care
  • Oversee the coordination of trauma-related services and resources
  • Provide clinical guidance and mentorship to nursing staff
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to trauma care

Requirements

  • Current Florida license as Registered Nurse or Recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provisions)
  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited School of Nursing
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date (RN)
  • Registered Nurse
  • Advanced Trauma Care for Nurse, or Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
  • Possession of a certified Trauma Room nursing (CEN) or Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certificate is preferred
  • Three years of professional nursing experience in an inpatient critical care or trauma nursing area or trauma intensive care unit
  • Background in trauma system management essential

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date (RN)
  • Registered Nurse
  • Advanced Trauma Care for Nurse, or Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
  • Possession of a certified Trauma Room nursing (CEN) or Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certificate is preferred
  • Three years of professional nursing experience in an inpatient critical care or trauma nursing area or trauma intensive care unit

Skills

Knowledge of trauma care protocols, quality improvement methodologies, and regulatory requirements. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential.
