Responsibilities

  • Supports administrative responsibility for department service functions and collaborates with the unit Director and/or Manager.
  • Assumes administrative scope of the unit in the absence of the unit Director and/or Manager.
  • Develops and implements departmental plans, including performance improvement activities and compliance with federal/state regulations.
  • Prepares, conducts, and oversees department orientation and training of personnel.
  • Communicates with staff, physicians, and administration both written and verbally.
  • Accountable for the quality of staff and functions during their shift.
  • Assists the Department Director in daily operations, directing, supervising, and evaluating personnel to ensure proper use of time, equipment, and staff.
  • Ensures efficient department functions.
  • Performs direct patient care as needed within the scope of practice.
  • Continually assesses care and directs staff to make immediate changes in the plan of care.

Requirements

  • Current and valid state Registered Nurse license.
  • Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire and maintained.
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification upon hire and maintained.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role preferred.
  • Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certificate preferred for Intensive Care.
  • Non-OB Facilities: NRP certification required 90 days after hire and maintained.
  • Professional Certification within 2 years of hire preferred.

Pay

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $48.85 to $65.75 per hour. The exact starting compensation will be determined based on factors such as skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
