About the role
As a RN Clinical Nurse Coordinator and/or Charge Registered Nurse (RN) at HCA Florida Memorial Hospital, you’ll deliver high-quality, patient-centered care and coordinate all functions on the 5 Central Medical Surgical Neuro Stroke Unit during the designated shift. In collaboration with the management team, you will direct, monitor, and evaluate nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures. You will serve as a resource for staff and model the organization’s vision, mission, and values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Assists with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Participates in the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit, in collaboration with other members of the management team.
- Collaborates with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
- Supports a patient-first philosophy and engages in service recovery when necessary.
- Supports the facility’s efforts to improve engagement by operationalizing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives.
- Provides recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff.
- Recommends and implements courses of action, including training and development, conflict resolution, personnel policy compliance, completion of performance evaluations, and/or disciplinary actions to ensure a competitively better organization.
- Assists with staff scheduling.
- Manages all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.
- Supports proper inventory control and assists with managing supplies and equipment.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or higher is required, or obtained within 3 years of hire/transfer.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Health Care Provider certification.
- At least 2 years of prior Hospital/Acute Care RN experience.
- Leadership experience is preferred but not required.
Schedule
- Full Time, Night Shift position.
- Shifts are 12 hours in length (approximately 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM).
- Rotating Weekends and Holidays are required.
