RN Clinical Educator - Surgery - Baptist

About the role

We're looking for a RN Clinical Educator to join our dynamic team in the Surgery department at Ochsner Health. Since opening in 1942, we've been committed to serving, healing, leading, educating, and innovating. Our success is driven by the dedication of our employees.

Responsibilities

• Assesses the need for, plans, organizes, implements and evaluates education and training activities for clinical and non-clinical staff.
• Designs, presents, and provides evaluations of educational programs based on identified needs/competencies.
• Participates in groups and professional associations.
• Functions as a performance consultant.
• Captures training facilities and other resources.
• Other related duties as required.

Requirements

• Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN)
• Preferred Education: Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN)
• Required Experience: 3 years of nursing experience
• Experience: Working with frequent interruptions and changes in priorities, working in stressful situations, remaining objective and professional at all times.

Skills and Abilities

• Computer skills and dexterity for data entry and retrieval of job related information.
• Proficiency with Windows-style applications and keyboard.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong presentation skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to work across organizational lines.

Pay

$7,500 Sign on Bonus

Physical and Environmental Demands

• Mechanical lifting devices (carts, dollies, etc.) or team lifts should be utilized.
• Must be able to stoop, bend, reach and grab with arms and hands, manual dexterity.
• Must be able to work a flexible work schedule (e.g. 24/7, weekend, holiday, on call availability).
• Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time.
• Normal routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluid or tissue.
• No occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases.
