Responsibilities

• Fulfills essential duties as outlined in the job description.
• Manages time effectively, prioritizing responsibilities and taking meal breaks without incurring overtime.
• Communicates effectively with all members of the healthcare team, including patients and families.
• Utilizes patient care equipment appropriately and safely according to manufacturer guidelines.
• Ensures regulatory agency requirements are observed, including but not limited to HIPAA, OSHA, and JCAHO.
• Manages patients with various surgical and medical conditions, including THA, TKA, spinal surgery, and those undergoing dialysis treatment.
• Engages psychiatric patients in therapeutic interactions, maintains a therapeutic milieu, and ensures patient safety.
• Applies de-escalation techniques to prevent the need for behavioral restraint/seclusion and continuously monitors patients for safety.
• Completes quality measures and participates in data collection and process improvements related to Nurse Sensitive Quality Indicators.
• Participates in professional hospital/nursing activities and maintains certifications and licenses.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN).
• At least 1 year of acute inpatient hospital experience in the United States.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently.
• Knowledge of medical procedures and conditions and ability to understand, follow, and successfully perform duties, including whole blood collection, and apheresis procedures.
• Committed to excellence in patient care and customer service.
• Demonstrates ability to work independently with minimal direction and supervision.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license from the CA Board of Registered Nursing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association.
• ONS Chemotherapy & Biotherapy certification within six months of hire (preferred).
• Specialty certification (preferred).

Skills
