Position Summary
Perform the duties required to coordinate and monitor provision of medical services in a professional manner for each individual patient.
Education & Experience
- Bachelors of Science in Nursing preferred
- Three (3) years as an RN in community clinic, public health nursing, and/or hospital setting
Skills & Abilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively individually as well as a team member with physicians and other staff
- Ability to appropriately interact and educate patients, families, and staff
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Microsoft office applications such as Outlook, Word and PowerPoint
- Ability to coordinate the activities of a busy provider practice
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
Licenses & Certifications
- Licensed as RN in the State of Missouri
Transportation Requirement
Must possess a valid driver's license and automobile with insurance coverage as required by the State of Missouri.
Essential Functions
- Coordinate and monitor the quality of medical assistant services
- Coordinate and monitor provisions of medical services
- Assist providers, take and record vital signs, abnormal results, distribute sample medications and administer injections per provider's orders
- Triage walk-in clients, call-in clients as appropriate for patient care and safety
- Keep patients records; complete appropriate forms and reports. Provide appropriate documentation. Adhere to patient confidentiality
- Monitor exam set-up
- Provide health education and counsel patients and family members in provider instructions and treatment program
- Coordinate nursing care plans with other team members
- Initiate the referral of high-risk patients and families for special services, team management, and track the patient's referral (i.e.) abnormal lab results
- Assist with implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of Quality Improvement Programs
- Observe sign and symptoms, document and report reactions of the treatment to the provider
- Perform other duties as assigned
