Position Summary

Perform the duties required to coordinate and monitor provision of medical services in a professional manner for each individual patient.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing preferred
  • Three (3) years as an RN in community clinic, public health nursing, and/or hospital setting

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively individually as well as a team member with physicians and other staff
  • Ability to appropriately interact and educate patients, families, and staff
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Microsoft office applications such as Outlook, Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to coordinate the activities of a busy provider practice
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

Licenses & Certifications

  • Licensed as RN in the State of Missouri

Transportation Requirement

Must possess a valid driver's license and automobile with insurance coverage as required by the State of Missouri.

Essential Functions

  • Coordinate and monitor the quality of medical assistant services
  • Coordinate and monitor provisions of medical services
  • Assist providers, take and record vital signs, abnormal results, distribute sample medications and administer injections per provider's orders
  • Triage walk-in clients, call-in clients as appropriate for patient care and safety
  • Keep patients records; complete appropriate forms and reports. Provide appropriate documentation. Adhere to patient confidentiality
  • Monitor exam set-up
  • Provide health education and counsel patients and family members in provider instructions and treatment program
  • Coordinate nursing care plans with other team members
  • Initiate the referral of high-risk patients and families for special services, team management, and track the patient's referral (i.e.) abnormal lab results
  • Assist with implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of Quality Improvement Programs
  • Observe sign and symptoms, document and report reactions of the treatment to the provider
  • Perform other duties as assigned
