About the role
The Cardiac(Coronary) Cath Lab unit at the Meijer Heart Center is a specialized procedural unit focusing on providing care to patients with various cardiac conditions. The lab consists of 5 procedure rooms, serving patients with heart failure, structural issues, peripheral circulatory issues, and coronary issues such as chest pain, STEMI, and NSTEMI.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care using the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge patients.
- Collaborate with and utilize patient/family input and goals in developing a care plan and teaching strategies.
- Care for a diverse range of patients, including those requiring Impellas, IABP’s, swan-ganz catheters, ECMO, and managing unstable/declining patients.
- Perform tasks related to procedures, including monitoring, assessing, sedating, and managing medications.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Nursing required.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing required within 5 years.
- Mi Registered Nurse (RN) required.
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days.
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months.
- Specialty certification highly recommended within 2 years.
- 1-2 years of inpatient RN experience preferred.
Qualifications

The schedule is rotating, Monday-Friday, with variable hours of 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., and every fourth weekend.
