Responsibilities
- Affirms patient’s physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interview, and review of medical records and clinical data.
- Develops and implements patient care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, observing outcomes in accordance with nursing standards.
- Demonstrates competency in therapeutic and diagnostic interventions, including IVs, wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collection.
- Advocates for and protects the health, safety, and rights of each patient.
- Provides patient and family education based on assessment of learning readiness, needs, and ability, and evaluates the effectiveness of teaching.
- Engages patients in all aspects of care with respect for cultural differences and diversity.
- Delegates tasks to non-RN personnel in accordance with State Board of Nursing and hospital policy.
- Maintains thorough patient charts and records and documents ongoing status, interventions, patient response and outcomes in an accurate, timely manner.

- Manages resources and patient flow by matching nursing competencies with individualized patient and unit needs.
- Uses standards of care, hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines to guide practice.

Qualifications
- Associate's of Nursing degree [Required]
- Bachelor's of Nursing degree [Preferred]
- Knowledge of anatomy, including the circulatory and neuro systems
- Comprehensive knowledge of anatomy, including the circulatory and neuro systems
- Registered Nurse (RN) license [Required]
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Required]
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification [Preferred]

- Able to learn and comprehend specialized software, such as hemodynamic monitoring software
- Quick learner with the ability to follow departmental policies and procedures efficiently
- Experience with Windows operating system
- Comprehensive knowledge of anatomy, including the circulatory and neuro systems
- Manual keyboarding skills
- Proficient in using computer and visual interfaces
- Able to learn and become independent in various roles such as scrub, record, and circulate positions for Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiovascular cases
- Documents and reports all procedures accurately and legibly in accordance with department policies
- Basic Life Support Certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification
- Knowledge of critical care medication
- Excellent assessment skills
- Ability to multitask effectively and manage time efficiently during patient preparation and discharge processes
- Critical care skills
- Proficient in charting and recording
