RN - Behavioral Health (Full Time, Nights), St. Vincent

About the role

The Behavioral Health Geriatric Unit and Adult Inpatient Unit at St. Vincent Hospital provide specialized psychiatric care for individuals aged 65 and over and those aged 18-65, respectively. Both units address acute psychiatric conditions and co-occurring medical issues.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership and mentorship within a multidisciplinary team.
• Assigns tasks and delegates responsibilities to LPNs and support staff based on patient needs and skill levels.
• Maintains a safe environment and intervenes promptly when necessary.
• Shares knowledge and skills with peers and participates in interdisciplinary evaluations.
• Engages in patient safety initiatives and department-specific quality improvement projects.
• Ensures appropriate order sets are used and supervises delegated LPN scope of practice.
• Uses the nursing process to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Affirms patient and family satisfaction and resolves concerns.
• Manages time effectively to meet daily responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Current State of Pennsylvania RN license or multi-state license through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
• Preferred certification in a relevant specialty area.
• Criminal background clearance certificates (Act 34, Act 33, Act 73).
• CPR certification.
