About the role

The Staff RN - Ambulatory Services works collaboratively as an active member of the interprofessional team to provide therapeutic patient and family centered care. The Staff RN - Ambulatory Services systematically and continuously collects and assesses data related to patient health status to develop, execute and evaluate the plan of care.

Responsibilities

The Staff RN - Ambulatory Services will be responsible for tasks such as:

  • Perform/direct ACLS
  • Independent rhythm interpretation and defibrillation
  • Administration of advanced lifesaving medications
  • Independent, templated (“RN-only”) visits for patient assessment, with action taken based on established protocols and/or clinical practice standards using clinical judgement to determine intervention timing/specifics
  • Specialty patient education where certification/additional certificate is required for role
  • Assisting with complex procedures
  • Advanced wound therapy (VACs, debridement, etc.)
  • Central line management (TPA administration) and maintenance (dressing / cap changes, access / flushing)
  • Device interrogation and interpretation with resultant action
  • Complex infusions (concurrent infusions, hazardous medication administration, blood and blood products, etc.)

Work may also include patient care coordination, direct patient care, patient education, telephone triage/eVisits, and performing/assisting with minor procedures. May float to other areas on as needed for operations need.

Requirements

Clinical experience and/or interest in the care and management of patient populations specific to the area of employment is required. At least 1 year of relevant nursing experience is preferred.

Qualifications

Nursing licensure is required. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred. Oncology: RNs must have/attain an oncology nursing certification or complete 10 hours oncology-focused CE education/year on an ongoing basis. Requires current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact). American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
