About the role

The Registered Nurse works in a 20-bed general medical surgical unit at Allegheny Health Network (AHN), part of Highmark Health. AHN is committed to patient-centered care and fostering an inclusive environment where employees can thrive.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership and support to the team, sharing knowledge and skills.
• Assigns tasks based on patient needs and staff capabilities.
• Ensures a safe environment and intervenes promptly when necessary.
• Evaluates clinical care and participates in interdisciplinary teams.
• Supports patient safety initiatives and participates in quality improvement projects.
• Supervises and evaluates LPN scope of practice.
• Uses the nursing process to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Affirms patient and family satisfaction and resolves concerns.
• Manages time effectively to meet work shift requirements.

Qualifications

• Current Pennsylvania RN license or multi-state license through the eNLC.
• CPR certification.
• Act 34, Act 33, and Act 73 clearances.
