About the Role
Join our team as a Registered Nurse on the night shift (7pm-7am) with a 0.9 FTE (12-hour shifts, every third weekend). You’ll leverage your RN skills and the full nursing process—from assessment and critical-thinking to planning, implementation, evaluation, and beyond—to craft personalized care plans that adapt to each individual’s needs. Build trusting relationships, collaborate across teams, and deliver compassionate, evidence-based care.

Responsibilities
- Delegate nursing care activities and monitor care given by appropriate team members based on patient needs and team qualifications.
- Support the use of Evidence-Based Practice and incorporate best practices into daily care routines.
- Mentor staff/students and collaborate with team members to develop initiatives for positive quality and patient care outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with team members, physicians, ancillary staff, and customers.
- Comply with all policies, procedures, safety goals, infection prevention, and risk management guidelines.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited nursing program and a valid nursing license for the state of Iowa.
- Basic Certified Life Support (BLS) certification prior to hire.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire (unless ADT Nurse and not part of the code blue team).
- NIHSS education within 90 days of hire and maintenance every two years thereafter.
- Completion of six hours of stroke education prior to the end of orientation and annually.
- Basic computer knowledge and successful completion of unit orientation and competencies.
- Strong communication skills.
