Full-time position, 40 hours per week, benefit-eligible with day/evening rotation. Shifts include 6:00 AM–6:30 PM, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM, and 2:00 PM–10:30 PM.

About the role

Provides assistance to the nursing staff on 5 Main, a Medical/Surgical/Cardiovascular Telemetry Unit delivering acute nursing care. Duties are assigned by the Director/Clinical Supervisor or designee and focus on non-licensed nursing support, maintaining safe and efficient unit operations, and supporting patient-care programs with excellent customer service and communication. Permitted to change patients from portable oxygen to wall oxygen.

Responsibilities

  • Assist nursing staff with assigned duties that do not require professional licensure.
  • Maintain safe and efficient unit operations.
  • Support patient care programs.
  • Utilize excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Safely access, transport, and handle single-dose medications, including prescription and non-prescription medications.
  • Safely access, transport, and handle sharps such as needles, suture kits, lancets, and syringes.
  • Adhere to Comprehensive Crisis Management policies.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (minimum).
  • Current enrollment or completion of a Nursing Assistant training program (preferred).
  • Healthcare Provider CPR certification.
  • Clinical experience through a nurse aide program, recent related experience, or related educational background (preferred).
