Volunteer Description

Unpaid volunteer contributing time to Intermountain Healthcare in various roles. Please apply ONLY if you have been invited to do so. No others will be considered at this time.

About the Role

Riverton Hospital Volunteers assist in the comfort needs of patients, families and guests and enhance the patient and guest experience through a variety of service activities.

Requirements

• A consecutive 70-hour (6-month) commitment, which entails volunteering one day per week for 3 or 4 hours;
• Passing a Background Check;
• Meet Immunization Compliance Requirements,
• Submit to a TB test,
• Attend the New Volunteer Introduction Meeting

Volunteer Areas

• Emergency Department (for qualified candidates 19 years old and older only)
• Gift Shop
• Information Desk
• Mammography Clinic (for Women Only)

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Sensitive to patient and family situations / dynamics
• Self motivated, flexible and adaptable
• Adequate hearing and vision
• Maintain and respect professional relationships
• Able to work well with diverse populations
• Sound mental and emotional health
• Physical mobility (walking, bending, standing)
• Moderate lifting/carrying/pushing
• Able to read, speak and understand English
