About the role

BCH is seeking a highly consultative, client-facing risk professional who understands both operational safety and the business side of insurance risk management.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Sales & Producers

  • Partner with producers on prospective client assessments to identify risk exposures and improvement opportunities

  • Participate in sales presentations as the technical expert to differentiate our approach

  • Translate complex safety and risk data into clear business value for decision-makers

  • Serve as the technical authority in the room, helping prospects and clients clearly understand their risk profile and how to improve it

  • Conduct on-site and virtual risk assessments, audits, and operational reviews

  • Deliver actionable recommendations that reduce loss exposure and improve insurability

  • Influence client leadership to adopt practical, high-impact risk mitigation strategies

  • Serve as a trusted advisor on OSHA, regulatory, and operational safety matters

  • Lead Training & Implementation

  • Deliver engaging safety training programs (OSHA 10/30, toolbox talks, leadership sessions)

  • Help clients operationalize safety improvements, not just identify them

  • Develop customized training materials and risk improvement plans

  • Build Relationships & Deliver Retention

  • Build strong relationships with clients, prospects, producers, and carrier partners

  • Act as a strategic extension of the sales team

  • Support client retention by demonstrating ongoing value and measurable improvement

Requirements

  • You’re not just technical, you’re commercially aware. You know how to walk a job site and confidently engage in executive-level conversations.

  • You’re comfortable building relationships, influencing decisions, and helping organizations improve both operationally and strategically.

  • Core Strengths:

    • Ability to translate technical risk into business impact

    • Strong presence in client and prospect-facing environments

    • Consultative mindset with strong relationship-building ability

    • Confidence influencing leadership teams and decision-makers

    • Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities

  • Experience & Background:

    • 3+ years in loss control, safety consulting, or risk engineering

    • Experience supporting or interacting with insurance brokers, carriers, or underwriting preferred

    • Background in construction or high-hazard industries is a plus

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred

    • PREFERRED CREDENTIALS:

      • One or more of the following: CSP (Certified Safety Professional), ARM (Associate in Risk Management), CSHO or equivalent

Qualifications

  • Ability to perform jobsite inspections including working at heights and in varying conditions

  • Comfortable using standard safety equipment (PPE, fall protection, etc.)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and reporting tools
