RIO Technician II - Outpatient Surgery
About the role
Intakes pre-op patients, properly identifies them, and applies ID and allergy bands. Obtains vital signs, height, weight, and allergy list. Assists patients to their assigned beds and orients them to the bed area. Assists in the preparation of charts and makes rounds on nursing units to obtain empty charts. Assists Health Unit Coordinators (HUC) with clerical functions as requested. Transports patients to and from other departments and to the discharge area. Assists with answering call lights, answering telephone calls, and keeping supplies stocked as needed. Assists nurses with patient care as requested. Performs lab draws and EKGs as needed. Supports customer and employee satisfaction activities of the organization. Maintains good relationships with physicians, management, other departments, and staff.

Requirements
- Ability to communicate by reading, writing legibly, speaking and comprehending English effectively in order to carry out job requirements.
- EKG and Venipuncture skills.
- Organizational skills (preferred).
- Current knowledge of medical terminology (preferred).
- Computer skills (preferred).
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- PCT Training/experience (preferred).
- CNA experience (highly preferred).
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) (required).
Qualifications
- High School Grad or Equiv (preferred).
- Field Of Study: N/A.
- PCT Training/experience (preferred).
- CNA experience (highly preferred).
Skills

Pay
$15.87 - $25.38
Schedule
Schedule will be 8-hour shifts, Monday-Friday. Most shifts will be from 0600-1430 but on late start days it will be 0700-1530.
