Rigging Coordinator

About the Role

Under general supervision of the Production Manager, the Rigging Coordinator will maintain and operate the fly‑rail system for events in Capital One Hall. The coordinator will work with the Production Manager and the Technical Director on production rigging, advances, and crew scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Participate in rigging advances for shows as required.
• Schedule crews as needed.
• Supervise rigging and fly crew on show days.
• Operate and maintain fly‑rail systems as required.
• Assist in the design of rigging systems as required.
• Work with Texas Scenic to maintain the fly‑rail system.

Skills

• Demonstrate proper knowledge and use of all procedures, techniques, machines, materials, equipment, and tools used in technical construction and maintenance.
• Demonstrate proper knowledge and technique in the use of lighting, sound, audiovisual, and rigging equipment used at Capital One Hall.
• Maintain effective working relationships with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons, and others encountered while working.
• Read and comprehend blueprints, drawings, and related materials.
• Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively in both oral and written forms.

Qualifications

• Current ETCP certification in Theater Rigging (required).
• Additional ETCP certification in Arena Rigging (preferred).
• In‑depth knowledge of single‑purchase counterweight systems and electrical hoist‑based rigging systems.
• Theater fly‑rail installation experience (preferred).

Physical Requirements

The employee is regularly required to move around the facility, stand for long hours during events, talk and hear, and may work inside or outside as needed. The position requires stooping and lifting, with the ability to lift and/or move up to 75 lb.
