Key Responsibilities

  • Cook up and oversee all contractor maintenance activities, including routine, capital project, and turnaround work.
  • Conduct regular field observations and performance reviews to validate productivity levels.
  • Develop, plan, and manage work scopes, work packages, and contractor schedules.
  • Determine optimal contractor staffing levels based on operational priorities.
  • Provide field supervision to ensure productivity, efficiency, and compliance with site standards.
  • Monitor contractor performance against safety, quality, cost, and schedule objectives.
  • Control and authorize contractor work through formal written instructions and work processes.
  • Coordinate multiple contractors to eliminate conflicts, delays, and rework.
  • Ensure effective execution of permit-to-work systems to support timeline adherence.
  • Track contractor spending and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Partner with procurement for contractor selection, performance evaluation, and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Validate emergent work, contractor claims, and supporting documentation.
  • Support turnaround events including planning, execution, and post-event closeout.
  • Coordinate contractor demobilization and completion activities.
  • Conduct regular field observations and performance reviews to validate productivity levels.
  • Capture and report performance data, lessons learned, and continuous improvement actions.
  • Identify, track, and share success stories related to contractor efficiency gains and cost reductions.

Safety and Quality

  • Ensure all contractors comply with site safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
  • Monitor safety performance and address non-compliance issues immediately.
  • Support audits and ensure adherence to regulatory and certification standards.
  • Verify all work meets defined quality standards and inspection requirements.
  • Facilitate inspections, documentation, and proper sign-off of completed work.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of relevant experience required; 8 years preferred.
  • 3 or more years of supervisory experience.
  • Ability to understand P&ID’s, equipment manuals and drawings.
  • Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

Education

  • A high school diploma or equivalent required; Associates or bachelors degree preferred.
