RHRP Optometry Technician

Attention all Optometry Technicians: we are calling on you to work with us providing Vision Exams and treatment to our Military Service members. We will primarily work weekends, with some occasional weekdays in the State of _______ on an “as needed” basis.

We provide health‑readiness services to meet the medical and dental requirements needed to maintain a deployable military force for the following components:

• U.S. Army Reserve (USAR)
• Army National Guard (ARNG)
• U.S. Navy Reserve (USNR)
• U.S. Marine Forces Reserve (MARFORRES)
• U.S. Coast Guard Reserve (USCGR)
• Air National Guard (ANG)
• U.S. Air Force Reserve (USAFR)

Responsibilities

• Help the optometrist with procedures and patient care.
• Take patient histories and maintain the patient records system.
• Assist patients in selecting suitable frames for their glasses.
• Demonstrate care and maintenance of lenses to patients.
• Repair minor issues with broken or damaged eyeglasses.
• Keep the office organized and presentable, and prepare exam rooms.
• Test visual acuity, depth perception, intra‑ocular pressure, and pupil reflexes.

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience as an optometric or ophthalmic technician.
• Experience performing visual fields, OCTs, and Fundus Photography (required).
• Proficiency with computers, including word processing, database, and spreadsheet programs.
• Own transportation for site travel.

Schedule

Primarily weekends, with occasional weekdays on an as‑needed basis.
