RHRP Optometry Technician

About the role

Attention all Optometry Technicians we are calling on you to work with us providing Vision Exams and treatment to our Military Service members. We provide health readiness services to meet the medical and dental requirements to maintain a deployable military force for the following: U.S. Army Reserve (USAR), Army National Guard (ARNG), U.S. Navy Reserve (USNR), U.S. Marine Forces Reserve (MARFORRES), U.S. Coast Guard Reserve (USCGR), Air National Guard (ANG), U.S. Air Force Reserve (USAFR).

Responsibilities

• Help the optometrist with procedures and patient care.
• Take patient histories and maintain the patient records system.
• Assist patients to select a suitable frame for their glasses.
• Demonstrate care and maintenance of lenses to patients.
• Repair minor issues with broken and damaged eyeglasses.
• Keep the office organized and presentable, and make the exam room ready.
• Test visual acuity, depth perception, pressure and pupil reflexes.

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience as an optometric or ophthalmic technician.
• Experience performing visual fields, OCTs, and Fundus Photography.
• Experience with computers, including word processing, database, and spreadsheet programs.
• Own transportation for site traveling.
• Must be able to undergo a background check (including criminal record check) and drug screening; E‑Verify will be used.

Schedule

Primarily work weekends, with some occasional weekdays in the State of _______ on an “as needed” basis.
